A non-invasive, early-detection scan that helps prevent heart attack and stroke before symptoms appear.
What Is CIMT and Why Does It Matter?
Carotid Intima-Media Thickness (CIMT) is a specialized ultrasound that measures the thickness of the inner two layers of the carotid artery wall. As plaque builds and arteries thicken, your risk of cardiovascular events increases — often silently. Unlike traditional cholesterol or blood pressure tests, CIMT detects pre-clinical atherosclerosis, allowing intervention long before a heart attack or stroke occurs.
CIMT is particularly valuable if you:
- Have a family history of heart disease or stroke
- Experience fatigue, brain fog, or low energy
- Have high cholesterol, diabetes, or hypertension
- Are postmenopausal or dealing with hormonal imbalances
- Want a comprehensive picture of your heart health
